Russell Armer wins award from Kendal Civic Society

Although Russell Armer regularly gains regional and national recognition for its developments, it’s always rewarding to receive praise at a local level, especially from organisations dedicated to promoting excellence in the built environment. Which is why the team was delighted to accept a coveted award from Kendal Civic Society for its recent conversion of an old nurses’ home on Brigsteer Road.

Each year, Kendal Civic Society recognises exceptional buildings that contribute to the attractiveness of the townscape by showcasing high standards of design and construction. This year, Russell Armer’s Tenterfield development received a ‘Highly Commended’ certificate for its beautifully designed conversion of a period building, together with a small and sympathetic development of new build properties – just eighteen (including two affordable) homes in all – in a leafy Kendal Conservation Area.

The award was presented at an informal ceremony on Tuesday 30 October at St Thomas’s Church.
