Russell Armer sponsors sweet talk at Kendal Food Festival 2015

If you’ve been tempted to visit the Kendal Food Festival before, you’ll already know what a great experience this annual celebration of all things edible really is.
Now in its sixth successful year, the festival has more than ever to satisfy the senses with a great selection of chef and artisan food demonstrations, talks and tastings taking place in three town centre venues over the weekend of Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th March.

Russell Armer is delighted to be involved – especially as we’ve been given the opportunity to sponsor a local speciality that we know and love! Grasmere Gingerbread was created by Victorian food pioneer, Sarah Nelson, in 1854. This unique spicy-sweet treat remains a firm favourite with aficionados the world over and is still made fresh every day – from a closely guarded family recipe – in the tiny church cottage in Grasmere that was once Sarah’s home.

Today, the business is run by third-generation owner, Joanne Hunter and her husband, Andrew. Joanne will share her experiences in ‘A Tale & Tasting of Grasmere Gingerbread’ – and there’ll be impossible-to-resist samples on offer, too.

The talk starts at 11am on Saturday 7th March – see you there!
