KENTGATE IS OFFICIALLY OPENED

Kentgate, our landmark apartment building on Kendal’s River Kent, has been officially opened by Councillor Jonathan Brook, chairman of South Lakeland District Council.

Neighbours who have made their home in some of Kentgate’s 46 apartments and penthouses were there to join in the champagne celebrations along with the Russell Armer team.

Praising all the hard work that has gone into the project, Councillor Brook told the guests: “It’s been said no one can whistle a symphony - it takes an orchestra to play it; and it’s very true of this project and this development. It breathes new life into this important part of Kendal’s riverside.”

Kentgate started life as a concept 4 years ago, and Martyn Nicholson, managing director of Russell Armer, was keen to thank everybody who had played a part in the £11 million project – from planners to bankers, engineers, plasterers and tilers. “We’re certainly proud of what we’ve achieved here,” he said. To help protect and shelter the special wildlife of the River Kent, bat boxes and otter holts have also been incorporated along the way.

With around 75% of the apartments at Kentgate now sold, Martyn added: “Our customers are the most important thing to us and this building because they bring it to life.” He said it was great to see so many residents at the opening ceremony, getting to know each other, and he looked forward to Kentgate becoming a vibrant community in its own right.
